For immediate release, Washington, DC, February 6. 2005-Parity Computing, Inc. announced today at the Association of American Publishers/Professional and Scholarly Publishing (AAP/PSP) Annual Meeting the public release of Version 3 of its software for automatically creating organizational and professional profiles. The platform can identify people and institutions from diverse data sources, such as research literature, books, patents, press releases, and company web pages, organizing them into unique, unambiguous profiles.
“Working in partnership with our customers, many of whom have already received tremendous value from our automated reference tagging and linking solutions, we have improved our profile technology that mines existing content to create a virtual resum of a person’s accomplishments,” explained Dr. Chris Rosin, President of Parity Computing. “Our publishing customers in particular are using this technology to create rich connections in their existing product offerings and to develop new products and services.”
Version 3 adds the following capabilities:
- Scalability to handle massive data sources
- Improved accuracy to merge and disambiguate names
- Customer interface to combine and split profiles and control updates
- Client management of individual privacy preferences
Dr. Mohan Paturi, Chair of the Computer Science department at University of California, San Diego and one of Parity Computing’s founders, stated, “This significant advance will create profiles that enable researchers like myself to stay on top of the achievements of our colleagues, to track who’s who in related fields, to understand the research strengths of individual institutions, and to identify individuals with compatible research interests.”
Version 3 of Parity’s author and organizational profile software is available now to deploy to Parity’s existing and new customers.
